Cursor vs Windsurf: which AI editor should you use?

Both are editors for people who write code. A new Cursor signup is an X Subscription, and Premium is the plan that unlocks third-party models. Devin Desktop Pro is the launch row for Devin. Pick on the models and the workflow. The prices are in the table.

That verdict is Kritelo's judgement. The prices are not.

Devin's documentation says that on 2 June 2026 Windsurf became Devin Desktop. Same IDE, new name. If you searched for Windsurf, you are in the right place.

Cursor's help centre says new customers buy the X Subscription. Older Cursor plans still exist for people already on them. Kritelo shows the new-customer prices. Plus does not include third-party models, which is why it is not the launch row.

Neither product has a confirmed cash affiliate program. Cursor's referral credits ended, according to the research. That is not a factor in the verdict.

US monthly searches, OpenSEO via DataForSEO, recorded 14 Oct 2026.

Flat amounts a new customer pays month to month, when we could confirm them. A hidden row means the page was unclear or the check is stale.

Questions

Is Windsurf cheaper because the old price was lower?

Use the table. Devin's FAQ says the rename did not change an existing subscriber's price. The pricing page's Pro price is the new-customer price. A FAQ also mentions some older subscribers keeping a lower rate. That older rate is not what a new signup pays.
